Job Summary:

 

The main focus of this role is to be able to support all aspects from start to finish on Molded Cordsets in our Michigan production facility. In addition this role would also support the necessities of equipment and building maintenance. This would include setup of production machines and equipment, troubleshoot production processes, maintenance of the machines, and maintenance of equipment and building within the facilities. i.e.; Maintaining proper oil levels, change of filters, routine Preventative Maintenance (PM) on air compressors, etc.

 

Scope of Responsibility:

 

This incumbent will be the primary person who would work in parallel with engineering and/or Production Technicians remotely on knowing all processes including the uses of assembly tools, fixtures, cutting and molding equipment. Would work also in parallel with the building’s facility management assuring equipment is maintained and recording of tasks as necessary is completed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure production employees are trained and following the prescribed assembly processes.
  2. Train employees on updated or new processes.
  3. Act as the main contact person who would communicate issues with appropriate remote staffing support and relay that information back to the on-site facilities.
  4. Troubleshoot production relayed issues that arise.
    • Troubleshooting may include but is not limited to –
      • Cable Cutting
      • Cable prep and assembly
      • Injection Molding
      • Testing and packaging
  5. Act as a backup to the Production Supervisors.
  6. Assure proper training documentations are in place and updated when necessary.
  7. Assist with standard Molding Machine Operator duties during break time and/or shift change when necessary.
  8. Maintain production and building equipment
    • This includes the equipment and machines used in order to manufacture product
    • Building equipment may include but limited –
      • Air compressors
      • Chiller
      • Building structure maintenance (I.e. Doorway adjustments, lighting changes, production setups or rearrangements, etc.)
  9. Practices and ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent in skills, specifically regarding basic reading and math skills. This person would need to be knowledgeable of all processes in order to manufacture molded Cordsets. Computer and communication skills are essential. Ability to do manual hand assembly labor is required.  Must also be knowledgeable with Turck specific programs, such as Turck Connect, Turck Tools, etc. Some mechanical knowledge and hand dexterities is a necessity.

 

 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

The job consists of both standing and sitting at a work station and wearing safety glasses, covered shoes, and steel toe shoes in designated areas.  The job does include some lifting and carrying usually no more than 50 pounds.  May require some travel to gain knowledge
