MCM Staffing is looking for Data Support Specialist  in the Detroit Metro/Farmington Hills, Michigan 

This is a Temp to Hire opportunity with a Hybrid Schedule. Candidates must have advanced Excel skills (vlook up, formulas, concatenate, text to column, pivot tables, other functions). Candidates need to have a good understanding of data files, be able to write formulas, pivot tables, etc.

  • Candidates should have strong communication skills (both written and oral communications).
  • Good time management skills
  • At least three years of experience

Salary Range = $45,000-55,000


  • Support Category Management, Purchasing, and Sales through new customer launches with item analysis and data manipulation as required through Category Management Sourcing Process.
  • Ensure data cleanse, bounce, and other required item manipulation is performed timely, with quality, to meet project deadlines.
  • Support category sourcing/purchasing item file formatting as required.
  • Provide support to Purchasing and Category Management through identified projects, to update and maintain item data that meets DSSI catalog content standards as needed.
  • Helps support item maintenance tasks (helps maintain Manufacturer code file, auto assignment, item name file) under the ownership of Category Management and/or Purchasing
  • Provides back-up support to Sales Team for item price sourcing benchmarking analytics through Dynamic Procurement
  • Identify ongoing opportunities for more efficient methods of updating content.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as required at the direction of DSSI management.
  • Responsible for conforming to procedures and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced level of Excel skills.
  • Substantial knowledge of purchasing practices and standard purchasing systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to manipulate data in large spreadsheets quickly and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of project management, strong skills in verbal and written communications, problem-solving, time management, customer care and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proficient with personal and laptop computers and standard office software.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
