Summary:
The Benefits Sales Executive is responsible for broker development and sales of benefit options to clients with prevailing wages/living wage statutory requirements. This position will meet the sales goals while developing a territory for sales of benefits products.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for growth and deployment of TPA Products (Health, Flex, Transit, Life and others) for Government markets: Federal and State David Bacon Act (DBA), Federal Services Contractors Act (SCA), and state contractors subject to Prevailing Wage Laws.
- Maintain activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations and proposals.
- Market medical and ancillary products to brokers and employers; oversee the preparation of proposals and RFP responses.
- Create avenues for new business sales from a wide-variety of self-developed sources.
- Formulate medical, dental, life plan alternatives and strategies with brokers and clients.
- Develop self-funded marketing and training programs.
- Participate in industry events and other training to maintain knowledge and skill development.
- Actively seek referrals from current client base for new business prospects.
- Develop and build strong working relationships with the carriers, brokers and key contacts through regular contact, responsiveness to issues and exceeding customer expectations.
Skills and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience and demonstrated proficiency explaining third-party, self-insured benefits to include medical, dental, life and other ancillary products including types of stop loss insurance. Possess a clear understanding and ability to explain employee benefits plans, regulations, and administration as well as major legislation that impacts benefits such as Health Care Reform and American Rescue Plan Act.
- 2+ years proven success in exceeding business sales goals.
- Familiarity with prevailing wage/living wage state legislation, Davis Bacon Act (DBA) and / or Service Contract Act (SCA) a plus.
- Knowledge of methods for promoting sales or services; negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to create, present and close on marketing plans.
- Ability to travel frequently, up to 50% of the time.
